Meet ART-y

Once upon a time, there was a lonely little bus sitting quietly in a church parking lot—faded, forgotten, and waiting. He missed the laughter of children and the joy of being part of something special. Dreaming of the days it could be filled with laughter, excitement, and purpose and more than anything, he just wanted someone to believe in him again.

Then one day, someone with a big heart and an even bigger imagination saw not what it was but what it could become with a little love, a lot of creativity and a splash of color. That lonely little bus began a magical transformation. Seats made room for creativity.  Walls were filled with joy. Paintbrushes, glitter, giggles, and imaginations moved in. With a little love, a lot of creativity, and a big belief in his potential, that once forgotten little bus became The Arty Bus-   a studio where children could dream, create, and discover the artist inside themselves, a magical place where creativity rolls, hearts shine, and every child who steps inside becomes part of the story.

Because this is just the beginning… I believe in every little artist who will come aboard and fill Art-y with the most happy, magical moments.Because sometimes the most magical things begin when someone sees potential where others only see an old bus.

Now instead of sitting alone, The ART-y Bus is filled with smiling faces, messy masterpieces, belly laughs and unforgettable memories. Today, the Arty bus brings creativity, joy, and connection right to your doorstep- giving kids (and grownups) a place to create, imagine, and feel proud of what they make.

So...  HOP ABOARD & LET CREATIVITY ROLL!!!

Art-y the first day we met

Hi, I’m Mauri—the heart behind the Art-y Bus! After 27 years of teaching elementary students (my sweet little “SWEETPEAs”), I’ve seen firsthand how powerful creativity can be. It builds confidence, sparks joy, and gives every child a place to shine.

Creating the Art-y Bus has been a dream come true—a way to take everything I love about teaching and bring it out into the world in a colorful, magical way. I believe in messy hands, big imaginations, and the kind of laughter that turns into lifelong memories.

When I’m not painting, planning, or dreaming up new ideas for the bus, you can usually find me with my family, my very supportive husband and the master transformer of the ART-y Bus, my four amazing daughters, and a few very large golden retrievers by my side. I’m so excited to welcome you aboard and create something wonderful together!
